The inspirational land of Mani never enslaved to any invader or conqueror. Mani is the home of the 98 traditional settlements out of the 118 existing in the Peloponnesus. Here is the land of the legendary “tower” homes, the “eagle” villages, the magnificent Byzantine churches, the significant archaeological sites such as Mystras (Unesco 1989). The most beautiful cave-lake in the world, Diros Cave, is located at this part of the Peloponnesus and the indigenous plants make this land a “botanical paradise”. The stone bridges, the watermills, the oil mills, the sunset at the Gates of Hades at Tainaro, the magnificent trekking trail towards Faro, the southernmost point of mainland Europe, the Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil in Sparta, make Mani a unique destination to visit . Local flavors like the virgin olive oil, the local cured meat ¨syglino¨, the pure honey and herbs from Taygetos mountain, are only some of the memories you will definitely follow you.
